BIRNS® Aquila-UV™

The BIRNS® Aquila-UV™ is a powerful, low voltage, multi-use ultra-violet lighting system that is rated to 200m. It’s engineered to work seamlessly as a helmet light for commercial diving and offshore oil and gas inspection usage. This brilliant LED/UV hybrid light operates well in and out of water and features a Ø60mm (Ø2.4”) housing with wire-free construction. This compact light has a 50,000 hour lamp life and operates on 12vDC, is RoHS compliant and consumes a mere 4 watts.

Part of the acclaimed BIRNS Aquila line of marine lighting solutions, it combines advanced design characteristics with a streamlined 97mm (3.8”) profile that makes it simple to relamp in just 30 seconds without requiring  tools. It has an ergonomically-designed compact mounting diameter with a coarse diamond knurled surface for easy hand gripping or positioning on a mounting bracket.

Designed to identify underwater leakage and fissures in metal structures, it is designed to provide a simple, versatile option for hand and helmet mounted UV illumination for diving and offshore applications.

• Available in unbroken lengths up to 1,000 feet. The cables are made to order, so specify any cable length and/or special configurations.

Power cable assembly, xxx-feet long; includes standard cable connector, stainless steel cable locking sleeve (63A-003) and heavy-duty Hubbell plug installed, on 16/2 Aquaprene SO cable. (Note: the plug is not included on lengths shorter than 20 feet.)

Note

Due to electrical resistance inherent in any power cable, voltage line loss will occur over long cable lengths. This causes a marked decrease in light output in low-voltage lights. The BIRNS VTX, automatically compensates for cable line loss over any length of any type of cable. The VTX also incorporates a ground-fault circuit interrupter and a dual-line circuit breaker for the ultimate in diver safety and product performance. Rack-mounted versions are also available.
